I've been working in the entertainment industry for some time and good advice is one of those things that's hard to come by. It doesn't matter how long you've been in your profession, getting sound advice and professional networking is something that you should always cultivate.
Recently, I took a trip to Montreal and ended up sitting next to a VP of Media and Entertainment for a Canadian production company.
Throughout the entire flight, we were doing our own thing and 15 minutes to landing we suddenly hit it off. Point of this story is that you never know at what point you might meet someone that can have a profound effect on your career or vice versa. Its about being prepared for the unexpected and creating opportunity.
As a producer and former audio engineer, I get artists and musicians who are looking for that magic bullet to success. Something or someone to get them to where they want to be in their careers. Often, they don't realize that the power to achieve is within.
It all starts with a dream, motivation and ambition.
