The #Internet Of The Future

Some of you might recognize this ominously red single lens with an opaque retina. It's a Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic computer better known as HAL 9000.

In the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (based on a short story by Arthur C. Clarke titled, The Sentinel), you're introduced to HAL and the many capabilities it can perform. I won't give the movie away but things go wrong and trust becomes a serious issue. In addition, the movie touches on how important it is that we depend on networks, systems and devices to perform critical tasks of tomorrow.

This is probably one of the most fascinating films of the future you will ever see in your lifetime. Looking into the unknown is often a very scary place (and for good reason), we can only imagine what technological innovations and breakthroughs tomorrow will bring.

Everyday we move closer to being more social, more interconnected, more interwoven in how we communicate and do business with each other. Moore's Law has fundamentally been proven. Our dependency on mobile devices and The Internet Of Things will increase.

Like it or not, the future is today.

"We stand now at the turning point between two eras. Behind us is a past to which we can never return" ~Arthur C. Clark
