As much as I like the idea of collaborating with others, the truth is collaboration is difficult and seldom works the way we want it to.
Crowd funding is a great example of people-centric collaboration at its finest. Create something awesome. Find your target audience. Jump start an idea or concept with the help of people who might share your same passion. Sounds like a winner to me.
To be successful with any collaborative project, if would help if you're an A-type personality extrovert with sales experience because to lead a project you'll have to manage a multitude of different personalities [some with their own ideas about how you should be running things].
Social media has opened a new way for people to collaborate on all kinds of new platforms [extrovert personality not needed]. Just post an idea on your favorite site and you're guaranteed valuable feedback.
We all have ideas, concepts, dreams of accomplishment.
How are you using collaboration to achieve your goals?
