Do's and Don'ts When Using Social Networks

You don't have to look far in today's media to find egregious faux pas of social media networks. It's quite easy to add personal commentary to a corporate tweet or Facebook post because [to the untrained or inexperienced] its often difficult to write without personalizing your thoughts and for this reason, it is still good for organizations [and certain high profile individuals] to hire a publicist or social media professional.

Social networks are social and when you engage its easy to get caught up "in the moment" but knowing some basic fundamentals can not only help but increase your trust/engagement level with followers/friends/clients.

Even if you have a personal social media account, it never hurts to abide by "tried and true" processes that not only protect you [in the wild] but will enhance your ability to transcend social circles you once thought were unaccessible. Used correctly, social media can be a great way to get a foot in the door, engage with professionals in any industry of your choosing and enhance your overall social media experience.
